World Trade Center Oculus
The Oculus is the sculptural above-ground structure of the World Trade Center transportation hub designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The Oculus houses the retail component of the transportation hub and connects to the NYC Subway and PATH stations below ground. Howard I. Shapiro & Associates designed the crane installations and rigging procedures needed to build this unusually complex structure.
